Background

                     The department of English was founded in 1986 with the establishment of Kamarbandha college in the same year. There were twenty students in the first batch studying English as a subject.            Renowned teachers like Debeswar Gogoi, Prof. Hem Phukan , Late Hanifuddin Ahmed, Lt. Kusheswar Khanikar extended their services to this department.

 Vision

The Department will offer students adequate communication skills to prepare them for their professional needs in the globalized world.

 Mission

 The Department will work for the enhancement of the skills of listening, speaking, reading and  writing of the students,  and create awareness of different genres of literature.

  News and Events

The Department conducted a Poster Competition on Environment and Women Education on 27               December,2019.

 The Department, along with the Sexual Harassment Committee, Kamarbandha college, organised on   March 20, 2021, an awareness programme on Sexual Harassment.

The Department has been engaging itself in social activities of plantation, cleanliness, Covid-Awareness , NSS works etc.
